This dataset is the result of an experiment conducted in nine countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and published as the book "A Better World for Migrants in Latin America and the Caribbean". This project is joint work between the IDB and UNDP. The databases contain data collected for the impact evaluation of an intervention designed to explore which mechanisms are more effective in changing people's beliefs and attitudes toward migrants. The experiment was conducted in nine countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and consisted of two video interventions. The first video, the informative video, aimed to correct misinformation about the impact of migration by providing accurate information about the size of the migrant population and its characteristics. The second video, an emotive video, intended to appeal to the emotions and empathy of the local population.

The OLAS/SCL Household Survey Data Set contains 47 water and sanitation related indicators generated from microdata from national household surveys throughout the region. The data set contains information from 2003-2022 for 22 countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Indicators are provided in terms of household percentage and total households that fall into each category, and can be broken down by various socioeconomic dimensions, including area (urban or rural community), income quintile, migratory status, ethnicity, and disability status. This dataset is the result of a collaboration between INE/WSA and SCL, and is a subset of the larger IDB SCL Indicators dataset.

This dictionary provides a comprehensive list of all the indicators generated by the social sector of the Inter-American Development Bank. It covers areas including education, health, labour, poverty, social protection, and gender, among others. Each indicator is defined, with information about the collection they belong to, the theme, and the value type. The OLAS Simplified GLAAS for LAC dataset provides information on water and sanitation governance in 30 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) from 2018 and 2021. The data is from the UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS), which is a global survey carried out by UN Water and the World Health Organization (WHO) that collects country-level information on provision of water, sanitation, and hygiene services. The survey covers topics like governance, monitoring, finance, and human resources in the sector. This simplified version of the dataset contains information relevant to WASH governance in LAC.

The "Database of suburban railways in Latin America" collects 56 indicators and benchmarks of suburban passenger railways, contained in 11 major themes. This information allows, on the one hand, to understand the dimension and characteristics of the level of activity of each of them, and on the other, through benchmarks, to know the operational-financial efficiency of their performance when compared with their peer railways.

The AB-LAPOP is a comparative survey that aims to create a temporal data set for the western hemisphere that includes a broad range of topics, produced by a standardized method and the use of a common core questionnaire which permit valid comparisons across countries and over time on topics. Technical information on the sampling methods and survey design can be access for each country surveyed on the LAPOP website. The OLAS LAPOP 2021 dataset focuses on water and sanitation access information, covering topics like type of water source used by households for different purposes, continuity of access, type of sanitation facility and whether households have exclusive access.

En 2012 el BID aprobó un proyecto para apoyar la preparación de un sistema integral de transporte colectivo para la zona metropolitana de La Paz y El Alto. El proyecto comprendió estudios técnicos, legales, económicos, sociales y ambientales. Un componente fue una encuesta de movilidad urbana que constituye la fuente principal de datos para el presente análisis. Dentro de este marco reunimos información sobre los patrones de viaje y características socioeconómicas de los residentes, en junio y julio de 2015. Para obtener datos comparables y determinar los viajes más comunes, tales como de la casa al lugar de trabajo o la escuela y de regreso, recogimos datos de las 6 p.m. a las 9 p.m. en días laborables y fines de semana. La muestra fue recogida a nivel sub-distrital (manzanos) para cubrir los distritos de La Paz y El Alto, siguiendo un proceso de selección aleatorio (ver Anexo 2 para más detalles). Un total de 6,720 habitantes de La Paz (4,208) y El Alto (2,512) fueron entrevistados de entre un total de 6,208 hogares (3,892 y 2,316 en La Paz y El Alto respectivamente).
